The
Resurrection from the Dead
The Doctrine of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead has
been the very core of Christianity since Jesus Himself began preaching Jhn
2:19-22. In fact, even before Jesus, King David spoke of Jesus'
resurrection (Psa
16:10), and Luke used this as an Old Testament proof in his narrative of Act
2:27-32. The New Testament is full of
references to Jesus' resurrection, and the Apostle Paul states that if the
physical resurrection of Jesus Christ is not true then all of Christianity is a
waste of time. 1Cr
15:1 ff.
Just as a note, many modern "christian" churches
deny the bodily resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ. Since there are
many citations of the physical resurrection in the scriptures, these churches
also deny the actual "inspiration of the scriptures" by God.
They teach that the Bible is not "the Word of God" and it is not
"inspired by God", but is just a compilation of post-crucifixion
writings by the church as it developed as a new religion. And so,
following Paul's statements in 1 Corinthians 15, the activities of churches
that do not believe in the resurrection are a waste of time, and those people
are "most miserable".
The Doctrine of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead
his very important for many reasons which will be discussed in
detail.
